Hi, my name is Gai,
with the help of my husband, Steve,
we make items
to sell at our local markets.
I've been sewing since High School
(which was quite a while ago)
and I made most of my children's clothing.
After leaving full time work
I found I had more time
on my hands so started sewing
more than ever before.
I started knitting when I was in my early 20's.
The first thing I knitted was Baby Bootees
for my 1st daughter
and my love of knitting has
continued and expanded over the years.
From bootees to dresses and
everything in between.
I now enjoy knitting
for my grandchildren.
It seems that you can
only make so much
for family and friends
so I looked for an outlet for
my work
and decided to try
my local craft markets.
The result has been a
very happy 8 years
of serving our customers
and getting great feedback on the items
I spend hours working on.
Makes getting up at 4.30am on Market Day worth it.
This is our boy
'Riley'.
He is a Shetland Sheepdog who has grown too big
for the show ring so he is now a pet.
Riley is very gentle and sweet.
His 3rd Birthday will be on January 21st which makes him an Aquarius.
He comes to the market with us and loves
to meet everyone.
We also have another dog
'Lachie'
Lachie is Riley's half brother.
His 2nd Birthday will be on March 22nd which makes him an Aries.
He's a little bit shy and nervous so I am working
hard to encourage him so hopefully he'll be able to
come to the market with us as well.
